One New Zealand partners with Disney to celebrate Kiwi legend Taika Waititi’s film Next Goal Wins.

The Brief:

One New Zealand was looking to strengthen awareness of their rewards programme among customers and non-customers.

The Idea:

The film featured two things Kiwi audience loves – sports and a good underdog story. Working together with Disney and the One NZ team we pulled together a multi-faceted campaign.

‍

One New Zealand was the presenting partner for the NZ Premiere at Hoyts Sylvia Park and Disney provided exclusive bespoke content from Taika Waititi promoting the partnership and One NZ Rewards offers.

Available prizes ranged from a trip to Auckland for the NZ Premiere to soccer balls and movie vouchers. These efforts were promoted through One NZ’s channels including an EDM, the My One NZ App, organic and paid socials, and the Sylvia Park week-long OOO activation and billboard. Additionally, One NZ got to invite charities supported by One Good Kiwi to a special screening of the film.

The Partner Objectives:

Disney wanted to do something big in Taika Waititi’s home country and raise awareness of the film's release in New Zealand.

The Results:

• Over 1.7k people were rewarded at the Sylvia Park score-to-win activation.
• 82% of non-customers and 78% of customers who participated in the activation rated their experience a 5/5.
• Taika Waititi’s bespoke content promoting One NZ Rewards drove strong results.
• Over 100 One Good Kiwi charity members attended the private screening.
• 1 very happy customer flown to Auckland for the NZ Premiere.
